Wellbeing

Having a supportive and cohesive working environment can have a great impact on an employee’s mental wellbeing. This is something that Natta fully understands. We aim to create a workspace where staff can have open discussions on wellbeing topics without facing stigma. We are continuously evolving our safety culture to encompass wider wellbeing in our workforce by carrying out yearly health checks, holding company annual wellness weeks and providing health insurance and mentoring. With this in mind, we run monthly ‘Staff Socials’ for our Head Office team to enjoy. We also have a gym and breakout room for employees to ‘work out’ some stress or simply take some needed time away from their desks.

Natta has signed the Mental Health Charter and has also become a ‘Supporter’ of the Lighthouse Club Charity. These initiatives mean that we can provide cohesive awareness and understanding of the importance of poor mental health to our workforce and promote positive mental health through resources and facilitated workshops.

We have created a Mental Health Hub for our staff so that they can access helpful information and resources to help support their needs. We have also rolled out the Construction Industry Helpline App to our workforce. So, if they need to talk to someone confidentially or need help quickly, the aid is there at their fingertips.

Mental Health and Wellbeing Courses

As a business, we are rolling out the Lighthouse Wellbeing Masterclass as well as a number of mental health and wellbeing courses. Our training provider, CISTC, also run Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Courses. These first aid courses include an in-depth understanding of mental health and what factors can affect well-being in a workplace. The course also includes practical skills to recognise the triggers and signs of mental health. We will be enrolling more of our staff on these.

Other resources which will have adopted from The Lighthouse Club are MH Toolbox Talks, Mental Health for Managers, Mental Health Awareness Course, Mental Health First Aider Course and Wellbeing Champion Training and Support.

This is just the start of Natta’s journey with the Lighthouse Charity. As a company, we are committing to building a Mental Health Framework which underpins the values of our business and supports people in our industry, every day, and throughout their working lives.
