Sustainability

In 2011, Natta achieved ISO 14001. We ensure that all staff are trained in the use of EMS at induction and at regular intervals throughout their career. Each project has a specific Environmental Management Plan produced before the project starts. Site Waste Management Plans are produced for all projects to comply with legislation and we support WRAP in our achievement of less than 5% waste to landfill.

We are accredited with FORS silver and are working towards Gold next year. Natta continually invests in our plant and vehicle fleet and ensures that when renewed we use the most efficient engines.

Partnered with the Supply Chain Sustainability School, we use their resources to benchmark our business and to continuously review all our targets.

Built Environment

Natta is well known for handling projects with complex environmental issues. We recognise that the protection of the natural and built environment is of paramount importance not only to current generations but also to future generations.

During the completion of all works and projects, we will demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility for the protection of both the built and natural environment where our activities have the potential to cause either a direct or indirect effect on the environment. Natta will seek to be at the forefront of environmental care within the sectors in which we operate.

Natta consistently achieves high audit results from The Considerate Contractors Scheme.

Sustainable Procurement

Natta understands that it is critical to use sustainable materials to reduce our sustainable impact. Where possible, we have embedded ethical practices within the supply chain to ensure transparency. We aim to only source sustainable timber and timber panel products which carry the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or equivalent trademark. Where unachievable, timber will be purchased from a sustainable source with documentation from suppliers/contractors.

Recycling

We recycle all of our surplus hard landscaping products. In-house, we recycle our paper, ink cartridges and our files.

Our old IT equipment is harvested for parts, recycled, and donated with old mobile phones to Weee Charity.

In 2024, on our Legoland Windsor project, we diverted 10 tonnes of wood waste for reuse or recycling and received a 10 tonnes achievement award from Community Wood Recycling.

Awards

In 2018, Natta won a Green Apple Award’ for the ‘Built Environment & Architectural Heritage’ category of Construction Material Recycling. Our head office complex in Crondall utilises PV for power and a wood-fired biomass boiler for hot water and heating. In 2019, we received a Green Apple Built Award for Reducing Plant Emissions. We have also been acknowledged as a Green World Ambassador.
