Wellness Week 2023

In September, The Natta Group celebrated our annual Wellness Week. Our wellness team organised various sporting and wellness activities for our employees to participate in, aiming to enhance their overall health and well-being. Each day of the week had a different wellness theme, and we shared posters, flyers, and videos related to these themes on our company Intranet to raise awareness about these important topics.

This year, we supported our mental health charity partner, the Lighthouse Club Charity, who provide dedicated emotional, physical and financial well-being support for construction workers and their families. We have raised a fantastic £191.45 for the Lighthouse Club and Natta has match-funded this total, taking it to £382.90!

Press-Up Challenge:

For our Site Teams, as well as Head Office staff, we ran a Press-Up Challenge. The aim was to complete as many Press-Ups as possible in 60 seconds. The winner, Dimi Simicevas from CISTC did an impressive 83 press-ups in 60 seconds! Well done Dimi and everyone who took part!

Mindful Monday:

Belinda, our HR Advisor and an Esoteric Practitioner led a meditation session for our employees to take part in. We also broadcast this live on Teams, enabling our site-based staff to participate in the session.

Tasty Tuesday:

Tuesday was dedicated to promoting healthy eating habits. Annette, our chef, prepared a nutritious menu for our company canteen. Jean Gardner, our receptionist, coordinated fruit baskets to be sent out to each of our sites and head office, offering a healthy treat for our staff to enjoy.

Workout Wednesday:

Wednesday was all about physical activity. We conducted gym inductions and held lunchtime fitness classes as part of our company-wide initiative to encourage active lifestyles. Our HR Advisor, a qualified Care Assistant, visited our Legoland Windsor and Slough sites to conduct health checks, including blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen levels. Over the next 6 weeks, our Health & Safety Team will continue these health checks across all our sites.

Take Care Thursday:

Relaxing hand and facial massage sessions were offered for donations to charity for our Head Office Staff to enjoy. Allowing them to relax and unwind during the working day. At Head Office, the team also enjoyed a lunchtime walk to get some fresh air and stay energised.

We were pleased to welcome Health Shield back to the Natta Head Office, where they conducted health checks for our staff. This included height, weight, blood pressure and blood checks, as well as BMI, cholesterol, blood glucose results and more.

Finale Friday:

During the week, we held several sporting competitions for our staff at Head Office to take part in. These included table tennis, boules and dodgeball.

The finals were played on Finale Friday. Sorin Caliniuc won the table tennis and the overall winner for Boules was Jon Hyam. The dodgeball team winners were Jon Hyam, Jordan Beech, Luke Butler, Matt Benham and Simon King. Congratulations to all of the winners and thank you to everyone who competed!

Luke Butler and David Vyse also washed several employees’ cars for our ‘Charity Car Wash’ initiative throughout the day.

Our Wellness Week Sport Tournament winners and our Wellness Team

At Head Office, to bring the wellness week to a close we held a prize-giving ceremony. We then enjoyed an array of healthy foods including Chinese chicken and garlic chicken with pitta bread, salads and coleslaw and took part in a Wellness Quiz to celebrate and finish off the week.

Thank you all for taking part, and a big thank you to our Wellness Team: Jo Whelan, Jon Hyam, Luke Butler, Belinda Jones, Jean Gardner, Megan Rafano and Amber Sawkins for organising the week. We hope everyone had a fun, mindful and healthy week!  We look forward to next year!
