Carbon & Energy
New Layer
Natta has substantially progressed our GHG emissions data collection. We delivered new strategies in 2023 and are currently developing, new exciting projects to deliver ongoing GHG emissions reductions.
We intend to be a sector leader in GHG emission reductions over the next 5 years.
Carbon & Energy – Emission Reduction Strategy
The following carbon reduction measures and projects have been completed or are currently being implemented.
We have invested in over 140kw of installed Solar PV as well as biomass heating at our Head Office, replacing the need for fossil Gas.
Our Plant fleets are monitored using online portals and our excavators use Trimble GPS software. We have adopted the ‘Electric Car Salary Sacrifice Scheme’. To date, we have rolled out 14 electric vehicles and have more on order. To further encourage and facilitate electric car use we have increased the number of EV chargers at our Head Office. We have a strong ambition to be an industry leader.
We are accredited with FORS Silver and are working towards Gold. Natta continually invests in our plant and vehicle fleet and ensures that when renewed we use the most efficient engines.
The emissions strategy will build on this, and provide a mechanism where Natta can demonstrate to our clients the achievements we will make over the forthcoming years.

Carbon Calculations
Natta is a Bronze member of the Supply Chain Sustainability School and uses their resources to benchmark our business and to review all our targets continuously.
We are moving to a formalised emissions reduction target and are now in a position to register for the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) SME scheme. This will provide a transparent business GHG reduction target aligning with the Paris Agreement goals, (limiting global warming to 1.5ºC above pre-industrial levels). SBTi currently requires an SME GHG reduction of 42% by 2030, from a 2022/23 base year. Our new Interim targets will therefore apply to the 2023-24 reporting period.
Future Plans
We are committed to increasing the number of electric cars used by our staff. In March 2024, our first fleet of 5 electric vans were delivered.
Currently, Natta is also developing a PV/Battery system which will aim to provide more than 75% of our annual cabin electric supply requirements. This will be operational on some of our sites by Q2 2024.
Our continued investment in new Plant will reduce our fuel impact and meet the new Transport for London emissions requirements.
