b'Natta Health & Safety News HSE Accident Statistics for 2024 The Health and Safety Executive publish statistics on work-related health and safety in Great Britain every year. The construction industry remains one of the most hazardous sectors in the UK. Understanding the latest statistics helps us identify risks, prevent incidents, and ensure everyone goes home safe and healthy. The numbers are not just statistics; they represent real peopleour colleagues, friends, and families. This year they revealed that 1.7 million workers reported they were suffering from work-related ill health, with an estimated 33.7 million working days lost as a result.Key Statistics from 2023-2024 Around 59,000 non fatal injuries were reported in construction The most common accidents were slips, trips, and falls, manual handling injuries, and being struck by objects 36 worker fatalities were reported in construction last year Approximately 79,000 workers suffered from work-related ill health. Common conditions included musculoskeletal disorders, stress, anxiety, and occupational lungdiseases.The HSE issues 3,200 improvement notices and 900 prohibition notices across all industries Over 100 million in fines were imposed for breaches of health and safety laws. These statistics highlight trends and key issues in workplace safety and health, providing us with valuable lessons to improve safety practices on our construction sites. Natta Stats for 2024 This year Natta recorded a total of 9 workplace personal accidents. While none of these accidents were serious enough to meet RIDDOR reporting thresholds, each one serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining a strong focus on safety every day. These incidents included slips, trips, and handling COSHH. In the last 12 months, Natta is proud to report 0 RIDDOR accidents. Up until June 2023, Natta had worked over 6.2 million man-hours RIDDOR accident free. We are committed to further improving this record.
