Wintringham, St Neots – Improvement Works
OVERVIEW
Natta was awarded the contract for the construction of the improvement works at Wintringham, St Neots, Cambridgeshire. Furthermore, this project forms a key part of a major strategic development aimed at supporting long-term growth in the region. Additionally, Natta’s role encompassed the delivery of critical enabling and infrastructure works required to facilitate future phases of residential and commercial construction for our client, Urban & Civic.
SCOPE OF WORKS
The project works included the earthworks, section 104 adoptable foul and storm water sewer systems. This is essential for servicing the future residential and commercial elements of the site. Attendance to utility diversions, including management, was also within our scope.
Natta also carried out the S278 works, which were vital in providing access to the development and integrating it with the existing road network. Moreover, these works incorporated a new roundabout, widening of the existing Cambridge Road. In addition, we delivered a new cycleway along with new development access bellmouths. Finally, we installed street lighting to ensure the roads and pathways remain safe and well illuminated.
Wintringham is a new mixed-use Residential and Commercial Development in Cambridgeshire. Furthermore, as one of Urban and Civic PLC’s strategic land sites, Wintringham will deliver 2,800 new homes, 2 new primary schools, local and district centres, employment space and a green open space, along with associated infrastructure and utilities.
Homes England supported the project as a key funder. Wintringham is also a joint venture project between the Nuffield Trust and Urban & Civic. Loves Farm East is a Gallagher Estates (L&Q) project, named Monksfields development. Overall, this will comprise 1,020 dwellings with approximately 7.6 ha of mixed-use facilities.
Natta’s involvement in the Wintringham Cambridge improvement works showcases our expertise in delivering complex infrastructure packages. As a result, these works played a vital role in enabling large-scale, sustainable developments.
