OVERVIEW

Natta were appointed to provide essential infrastructure works, carefully designed to unlock future phases of development across the Horizon 120 Business Park, one of Braintree’s flagship commercial growth zones. We worked for The Marshgate Group in partnership with Braintree District Council.

SCOPE OF WORKS

Natta’s scope of work focused on the design and construction of a new access road. This formed a crucial link through the business park and provided the key route for both construction traffic, and future commercial occupiers. In addition, we incorporated surface water drainage, swales, headwalls, bellmouths, footpaths, street lighting and landscaping, together with the installation of a foul pumping station.

Along Edison Way, the scheme delivered foul water drainage through the existing roadway, as well as service trenches for water, electricity and telecoms, with additional corridors extended to the southern boundary to ensure capacity for future growth. In addition, these elements were integrated with the wider access road infrastructure to support efficient services across the site.

On Horizon Boulevard, a new trench was also created through existing paving and carriageways to accommodate a high-voltage cable route to the primary substation. We closely coordinated these works with installing and connecting multiple utility services, such as water, gas, HV, LV, and Openreach, through the access road and related infrastructure.

These works established the fundamental utilities and transport links needed to support the continued expansion of Horizon 120 Business Park as a prime commercial destination. Consequently, by establishing reliable service routes and enhancing road connectivity, Natta has helped position Horizon 120 as a leading commercial destination.
