Enderby – Renewable Energy
OVERVIEW
Natta were appointed as the main contractor by Stratera Energy. We constructed a new renewable energy battery storage facility in Enderby, including bulk earthworks. This facility forms part of Statera’s strategic commitment to delivering sustainable, grid-scale renewable energy solutions that support the UK’s transition towards low-carbon power generation and increased energy resilience.
SCOPE OF WORKS
Natta’s role involved the full civil construction of the site, excluding electrical installations. This formed the foundations for all future electrical components. Furthermore, the scope of work included completing the bulk earthworks to prepare the site platform, followed by the installation of comprehensive drainage systems and underground services. They supported both operational requirements and regulatory compliance.
A critical part of the works involved the construction of cable troughs and ducting networks, essential for routing the high-voltage and control cables that link the storage units with transformers, substations and the main grid. Natta delivered reinforced concrete foundations for a range of key infrastructure elements, including storage units, transformers, substation and grid connectors.
In addition, we implemented both hard and soft landscaping to ensure the site was completed to a high aesthetic and environmental standard. Natta undertook the full construction of the control room, providing the operational hub.
Overall, the works were delivered with a high level of precision and under strict programme constraints. This project showcases Natta’s capabilities in supporting the delivery of complex civil engineering packages for modern energy infrastructure. Therefore, it reinforces our expertise in supporting the rollout of sustainable and future-focused power solutions.
