Bailey Road Adoptable Carriageway, Horsham
OVERVIEW
Natta is delivering the Bailey Road Extension at North Horsham for Legal and General, a key infrastructure project supporting the continued growth of the Mowbray development. The scheme will provide approximately 400 metres of new Section 38 adoptable highway, improving connectivity within the development while enhancing access for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users.
SCOPE OF WORKS
The works comprise the construction of approximately 400 metres of new adoptable carriageway, together with a new footway and cycleway link and an off-line bus turning circle to improve accessibility and transport connectivity.
Extensive bulk earthworks are being undertaken, including the relocation of existing stockpiles and the infilling of an on-site pond to facilitate the new road alignment. A major element of the scheme is the installation of two large precast concrete box culverts and associated drainage infrastructure to manage water flow across the site.
The project also includes the creation of two Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) basins, highway drainage, street lighting, landscaping and ecological enhancements, ensuring the completed development integrates seamlessly with its surrounding environment while delivering long-term benefits to the local community.
