Gammaton Moor, Devon
OVERVIEW
Natta was appointed to deliver the groundworks and civil engineering package for a large-scale Solar PV Farm in Gammaton Moor. Acting as Principal Contractor, we played a central role in establishing, managing, and constructing the essential infrastructure that would enable the seamless installation of high-voltage solar energy systems feeding directly into the National Grid.SCOPE OF WORKS
Our scope included full site establishment and welfare setup, including logistics management, compound construction, and site supervision throughout the project. We undertook the design and installation of the permanent site access road, cut-and-fill earthworks, and the formation of the main compound. Key infrastructure delivered included the construction of a 132kV switch room, built to National Grid specifications, and the installation of multiple reinforced concrete foundations for high-voltage equipment, such as transformers, circuit breakers, substations, and communications infrastructure.
The project also involved designing and installing extensive service trenches, drainage systems, and rainwater harvesting infrastructure, ensuring long-term functionality and resilience. Finally, the site was secured with National Grid-standard fencing and access gates.
This project reflects Natta’s growing expertise in renewable energy infrastructure, demonstrating our ability to manage complex civil works packages and contribute meaningfully to the delivery of sustainable energy solutions.
