Stoneham Park S278 Development Works
OVERVIEW
Natta undertook S278 Development Works for the construction of two new large roundabouts and three major junctions off Stoneham Lane for our client, Highwood Group, together with associated infrastructure, roads, and drainage. These works formed a critical part of the enabling infrastructure required to support the wider North Stoneham Park development.
SCOPE OF WORKS
North Stoneham Park is a substantial 120-acre development site located on the outskirts of Eastleigh. The scheme represents a landmark mixed-use residential development and has been designed to deliver approximately 1,000 new homes, helping to address the area’s housing requirements.
In addition to residential accommodation, the wider development includes elderly accommodation, a school, a community hub, as well as leisure and sporting facilities and landscaped public open spaces. As such, the infrastructure works delivered by Natta were essential in supporting both the residential and community elements of the scheme.
Natta’s scope included the construction of adoptable roads, together with the installation of drainage systems and street lighting to service the development. These works were delivered to the required adoptable standards, ensuring long-term functionality and compliance with highway authority requirements
Furthermore, the project included the construction of a major new roundabout on Stoneham Way, which required extensive coordination with third-party stakeholders, including local authorities and utility providers. This element of the scheme was particularly significant, as it provided a key access point into the development and formed an integral part of the overall transport infrastructure.
Overall, the project demonstrates Natta’s experience in delivering large-scale highway infrastructure and Section 278 works, supporting major residential and mixed-use developments through the provision of essential access and infrastructure.
