OVERVIEW

Natta was appointed as main contractor by the client, Grainger Trust. The works included the upgrade of the existing highway infrastructure to meet the needs of the expanding Wellesley development, Queens Avenue in Aldershot, Hampshire. As the development continued to grow, the surrounding highway network required improvement to accommodate increased traffic, pedestrians, and service demands. Our role was to deliver the necessary highway upgrades to support this expansion while maintaining safe and continuous use of the existing roads.

SCOPE OF WORKS

This project involved new drainage and services, together with the rebuild, realignment and refurbishment of the roads and footpaths. These works were designed to improve both the functionality and longevity of the technical section 278 works, ensuring they met current standards and future demand generated by the Wellesley development.

Natta’s scope of works were carried out under live traffic conditions, adding a significant level of complexity to the project. This required careful planning, robust traffic management arrangements, and constant coordination to ensure the safety of road users, pedestrians, and site operatives. In addition, the project demanded close management of interfaces with both the general public and adjacent constructors working within the wider development area.

As a result, the Queens Avenue project showcases our proven expertise in technical section 278 works, detailed planning, rigorous quality procedures, and effective stakeholder coordination. It also demonstrates our ability to successfully deliver complex highway upgrades in live, constrained environments while maintaining a high standard of safety.
