Portbury – Distribution Centre
OVERVIEW
Natta was appointed Main Contractor by our client, Brakes, to deliver the extension and upgrade of an existing distribution centre hardstanding area. This involved increasing the facility’s operational capacity by a further 5,000 m². These works were essential in supporting the continued growth and functionality of the distribution centre, providing additional space for vehicle movements, loading, and storage operations.
The extension was carefully integrated with the existing facility to ensure continuity and long-term durability, while meeting the performance requirements of a high-traffic industrial environment.
SCOPE OF WORKS
The scope included the removal of an existing bund off-site, the installation of bank retention measures, and the construction of a new access road. In addition, we delivered 5,000m² of paved concrete hardstandings, designed to accommodate sustained heavy vehicle loading and frequent use. These works were supported by the delivery of associated drainage systems, attenuation tanks, and service installations to ensure effective surface water management and long-term performance of the newly expanded area.
We also refurbished the existing channel drainage system and added new distribution services, ensuring the upgraded facility functioned efficiently and met current functional standards.
Overall, this project demonstrates Natta’s capability in providing industrial infrastructure and hardstanding improvements within live environments. It supports the operational expansion and long-term performance of distribution facilities through coordinated planning, technical expertise, and high-quality construction.
