OVERVIEW

Natta were appointed as the Main Contractor by Legal & General Strategic Land. Importantly, we played a key role in the delivery of essential infrastructure for the North Horsham development. Initially, the scope of our works included extensive adoptable Section 278 highway improvements, most notably the construction of a major roundabout and significant junction upgrades at the intersection of Rusper Road and the A264. Therefore, these works formed a crucial part of the primary infrastructure corridor providing access to and from the large-scale development site.

SCOPE OF WORKS

In addition to the highway upgrades, a major feature of this project was the installation of a 52-metre Vierendeel-style footbridge. The structure spans the busy A264 and includes 175 metres of ramps, designed in steel for durability and visual appeal. The bridge significantly enhances pedestrian and cyclist connectivity across the development, promoting active travel and reducing reliance on vehicles.

Natta also undertook the construction of the southern loop road under a further works package. Moreover, this internal road network serves as an integral link within the masterplan, supporting the phased delivery of housing and community infrastructure.

Furthermore, the development had planning consent to provide 2,750 new homes in a range of sizes and tenures, including affordable housing and 500,000ft² of commercial space. Additionally, new pedestrian, cycle and road connections, with extensive green space and landscaping, complete the scheme.

Overall, the North Horsham project was another high-profile job where we could play our part in delivering sustainable communities and utilise our expertise to expedite works whilst maintaining a quality product.
