Millbrook Park – Residential Infrastructure
OVERVIEW
Natta was involved in the early development and installation of a primary residential link road to enable the redevelopment of a former Ministry of Defence barracks into a large-scale residential development at Millbrook Park, for the Inglis Consortium. The residential infrastructure works required careful coordination and delivery to integrate the new infrastructure successfully into the existing highway network while supporting the phased redevelopment of the former barracks.
SCOPE OF WORK
The Millbrook Park project required extensive Section 278 works, along with interface management of various stakeholders and contractors, including the council, UKPN, SSE, Thames Water, and other contractors and developers.
All Section 38 and 278 roads and their associated drainage systems meet adoptable standards and form the primary residential link road. Natta ensured all construction activities complied with the relevant specifications and secured full approval and sign-off from the appropriate authorities. The design and build project also required Natta to undertake demolition works along with extensive cut and fill earthworks and associated piled retaining walls.
Significant earthworks profiling was required across the development, including approximately 45,000m³ of cut and fill operations. In addition, considerable remediation works were undertaken to manage ground conditions and minimise the need for off-site material disposal, supporting both environmental and programme objectives.
Following the successful delivery of the initial infrastructure works, Natta was awarded additional contracts across the development. These included the construction of public parks, gabion wall feature areas, and further distributor roads with associated drainage. This demonstrates continued confidence in Natta’s ability to deliver complex infrastructure works to a high standard.
