OVERVIEW

Natta was appointed as the main contractor to undertake the full design and build of a 100-bed new-build care home for Graham Land & Developments. Delivered as a major redevelopment scheme, the project required careful planning and sequencing to ensure continuity of care services while providing a modern, purpose-built facility designed to meet current and future care needs.

SCOPE OF WORKS

Natta undertook the full turnkey build of this project. Maintaining uninterrupted operations was a critical priority and influenced both the programme structure and construction methodology.

To facilitate this, the project was also carefully planned and delivered in two distinct phases. Phase 1 involved the construction of a new 73-bed wing. This phase was completed while the original facility continued to operate, requiring strict controls around access, noise, safety, and logistics. Once Practical Completion was achieved on Phase 1, residents were able to transition into the new accommodation.

Phase 2 included the demolition of the existing home and the subsequent reconstruction of a new wing. This brought the completed care home to its full 100-bed capacity, completing the transformation of the site into a modern, fully integrated care facility.

Through careful phasing, detailed planning, and close coordination with all stakeholders, Natta successfully delivered this new-build care home while maintaining full operational capacity. Subsequently, the completed home now provides high-quality accommodation within a purpose-built environment, designed to enhance resident wellbeing and comfort. This reflects Natta’s expertise in delivering complex healthcare and care-sector developments within live settings.
