Finchwood Park – Groundworks Contractor

OVERVIEW

Natta were appointed as a groundworks contractor by Legal & General Homes to deliver the groundworks and infrastructure package for 178 residential plots at Finchwood Park in Finchampstead. The project was located on a Greenfield site. Acting as an experienced subcontractor, Natta supported the early delivery of this major residential scheme, providing the foundations and services required to unlock the first phase of development. 

The works formed part of a wider 10-year development programme comprising 1,500 new homes. As such, this initial phase played a critical role in establishing the infrastructure and groundworks needed to support the long-term site outcome. 

SCOPE OF WORKS

As part of the first phase, Natta undertook a mixture of mass concrete and piled foundations, selected to suit ground conditions and the residential layouts. In addition, the work included drainage services, substructure brick and blockwork, floors, and hard landscaping.

The scope also incorporated the construction of adjusted roads, sewers and services. This ensured each plot was fully serviced and ready for future phases. We also carried out the bulk earthworks across the wider development. All groundworks were carried out to a damp-proof-course (DPC) level, with the full external works delivered to a high standard. 

The site operated as a high-production environment and therefore required careful sequencing and programme control. Through efficient planning and coordination, Natta successfully supported the client’s objective to deliver housing units at speed. 

Overall, the Finchwood Park project demonstrates Natta’s capability as a reliable infrastructure contractor, producing high-quality groundworks within a fast-moving residential development and supporting the successful progression of a large-scale, long-term housing scheme.
