OVERVIEW

Natta worked as the Main Contractor on this project following our successful completion of extensive civil engineering works and major improvements to Rusper Road and the A264 junction. This provided the main infrastructure corridor into the North Horsham development. Subsequently, we were appointed to undertake the East West Greenspace project by our client, Legal & General Strategic Land

SCOPE OF WORKS

The project included the creation of a significant area of public open space, designed to include play parks, paths, pedestrian bridges, open watercourses and hard and soft landscaping. In addition, the works included the excavation of two ponds and the construction of retaining walls, timber bridges, resin footpaths, water cascades, and lighting. Subsequently, these elements were carefully integrated to create an engaging, accessible, and enjoyable environment for all.

Furthermore, as part of the site preparation for the project, the team undertook extensive earthworks to a strict engineering specification. As a result, this included extensive geo-technical testing to ensure soil stability, compliance and long-term performance. In addition, the site had areas of historically contaminated soils associated with former farm operations. Consequently, Natta undertook the careful remediation of these materials alongside the earthworks, ensuring full compliance with environmental regulations and safeguarding the future usability of the space.

Overall, the East West Greenspace project showcases our capability in delivering complex civil engineering and environmental infrastructure works. Moreover, transforming undeveloped land into a functional, sustainable, and high-quality community asset. It also reflects our success in delivering a large-scale public realm project.
