OVERVIEW

Natta were awarded Main Contractor to deliver the full design and build contract of a prestigious new 119-bed elderly care community on behalf of our client, Avery Healthcare Group. This development was designed to provide a range of specialist accommodation and care services, combining new-build facilities with the sensitive conversion of an existing historic structure.

SCOPE OF WORKS

The completed elderly care community provided a 42-bedroom Dementia Care Home, a 77-bedroom Nursing Home and the conversion of an existing Victorian Villa to create 8 assisted living apartments, together with associated car parking. This part required particular care and attention.

In preparation, Natta undertook extensive soil testing, ground analysis and the removal of all contaminated materials. This ensured the site was suitable for redevelopment and compliant with environmental standards.

Our scope comprised the entire design, build and fit-out works. This included all demolition, bulk excavation, associated groundworks, and substructure foundations. In addition, the works involved the construction of caltite retaining walls, providing enhanced durability, as well as the delivery of all hard landscaping across the site.

The design uses a structural steel frame, with composite deck flooring, and an external SFS wall system built up with a facing brick finish. Internally, there are a range of facilities, including a commercial kitchen, laundry facilities, and numerous communal living areas. Furthermore, the development incorporated amenities such as a cinema and spa.

In conclusion, this project highlights Natta’s experience in delivering complex, large-scale healthcare developments and demonstrates our ability to produce to a high standard, while prioritising safety and the wellbeing of future residents.
