To underpin Nattas commitment to the well-being of all staff, including on site, both Dave Smith andDavid Armstrong from the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) department have recently completed Mental Health First Aid training. This, alongside our membership and promotion of theLighthouse Club, highlights Nattas dedication to fostering a supportive work environment.Understanding Mental Health First Aid Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a specialised training program designed to give skills to identify,understand and respond to signs of mental health challenges. In the construction industry, where the nature of work can be demanding both physically and mentally, we recognise the importance of mental health support to our employees.Why Mental Health Matters in Construction The construction industry often involves tight deadlines, physical tasks and high-pressure situations. These factors can contribute to stress, anxiety and other mental health challenges among ourworkforce. Recognising and addressing these issues early on is essential for creating a healthy andsupportive work environment. By having trained Mental Health First Aiders, Natta strengthen the ability to offer appropriate support and promote a positive company culture.What to Expect As part of their role as Mental Health First Aiders, they will be available to provide support, lend a listen-ing ear and provide guidance to appropriate resources when needed, all matters will be dealt with in to-tal confidence.
