Last week, the Natta Group’s 2024 Wellness Week took place! The week was filled with various activities that brought everyone together and focussed on the importance of our physical and mental health. We assigned daily themes and put relevant supporting information on our company Intranet for our employees.
Once again, we supported our mental health charity partner, the Lighthouse Club Charity, who provide dedicated emotional, physical and financial well-being support for construction workers and their families. Across the week we raised an incredible £181.25 for the charity and Natta will match fund to give us a final total of £362.50!
Site Wellness Bingo Challenge:
This year we ran a Site Bingo Challenge for our site staff. They were challenged to pair up with a colleague and tick off as many wellness tasks before their opponent. The first one to fill in the entire board was entered in the end-of-week draw for a chance to win a voucher! In third place was Michael Knot and second place was awarded to Parveen Simph. Finally, a big well done to Ionut Dobroiu who was our overall Site Bingo winner!
Angmering ‘Make It Visible’ Event:
On Wednesday, the Lighthouse Charity visited our Angmering site to deliver a ‘Make It Visible’ event. The campaign aims to increase awareness of mental health support and accessibility in construction. The event began with an engaging ‘Toolbox Talk,’ where they shared first-hand life experiences and struggles. There was the opportunity for discussions on how important positive mental health is and for one-to-one advice. As a supporter of the charity, Natta recognises the importance of creating a supportive environment to encourage conversations about mental health.

Mindful Monday:
Belinda Jones, our HR Advisor guided a meditation session for our employees, which was also broadcast live on Teams, allowing our site-based staff to join in remotely. The session provided a relaxing break, to clear the mind and reduce stress. Following this, Stephanie Stevenson a qualified Esoteric Yoga Practitioner led an Esoteric Yoga session. This style of yoga offers an opportunity to check in with your body and connect with the stiffness within.
Tasty Tuesday:
Tuesday focussed on nourishing our bodies with healthy foods. Annette, our chef created a delicious and nutritious menu for the company canteen. Fruit baskets were delivered to our sites and head office, offering a healthy treat for our teams.
Workout Wednesday:
Wednesdays focus was physical activity. We ran a Move Fit Session in our company gym. It was a fantastic opportunity to step away from our desks and prioritise our physical health.
Take Care Thursday:
Our Head Office staff enjoyed soothing hand and facial massage sessions, with all proceeds going to charity. Health Shield returned to conduct comprehensive health checks for our staff, including BMI, cholesterol, and glucose levels. These confidential health screenings provided valuable insights into our well-being. In addition, we carried out blood pressure tests at several of our sites.
We welcomed guest speaker, Elliot Awin, for a motivational talk. He discussed his experience battling arrhythmia. He then went on to rowing across the Atlantic Ocean solo and unsupported in 2023. Natta were proud to sponsor his tremendous row for Wave Wrangler, who aim to raise funds supporting individuals with heart rhythm issues. Funds raised go to the British Heart Foundation.
Finale Friday:
Throughout the week, we held sporting competitions at our head office for Boules, Tennis, Dodgeball and Table Tennis. Finals commenced on Friday. Congratulations to Chairman, John J Whelan for winning Boules and our table tennis winner, Sorin Caliniuc. Finally, our tennis winner was Natta’s managing director, John E Whelan.
To wrap up Wellness Week at Head Office, we hosted a prize-giving ceremony followed by a delightful spread of healthy foods, including chicken, rice and roasted vegetables as well as halloumi and vegetable skewers with cous cous. To conclude the week, we also hosted a Wellness Quiz, to celebrate a successful week. Thank you to everyone who took part and generously donated.
A huge thank you to Caz, Jenna Goode, Harvey and Diana Serbulescu who washed employees’ cars for our ‘Charity Car Wash’ initiative.
Lastly, we could not have done it without our Wellness Team: Belinda Jones, Jon Hyam, Jean, Megan Rafano, Amber Sawkins, Jenna Goode, David Armstrong, David Smith and Cezara Dan. Thank you for organising a fun-filled and successful week. Whether you participated in the sports events, took part in the wellness sessions, or simply enjoyed the healthy snacks, we hope you felt the positive impact on your well-being. We look forward to next year!
