Natta appoints 3 new Directors to the Natta Building Board

As part of the expansion of Natta Building, Natta has appointed Andy Fowler, John Dunwoody and Paul McKane to the Natta Building Company Board of Directors.
Managing Director, John E Whelan said, “I would personally like to thank Andy, John and Paul for their efforts to help grow the business. Their leadership has been instrumental in ensuring that the business is on track to grow safely and profitably in the coming years. Their experience and approach will be an outstanding addition to the Board. They will help us drive forward our business and ambitions of becoming a significant player in the industry. We will be able to take full advantage of larger schemes, as well as delivering the exciting portfolio of work already on our books. These appointments are in recognition of their hard work and service to Natta.”

He continued, “Natta’s client base, technical capability and opportunity to excel across a broad range of major projects, puts the business in a good position within our industry. Delivering for our clients is at the core of Natta’s business ethos. I know that Natta’s continued growth and strong leadership teams in place across the business will ensure that clients’ commitments are delivered with certainty.”

Andy Fowler has been appointed Operations Director

Andy moved to the UK from South Africa in April 2000. His first job in the UK was working as an Engineer at Natta’s North Woolwich project. His career with Natta has progressed from Engineer to Project Manager to Contracts Manager and for the last 6 years as Senior Contracts Manager.

From Zimbabwe originally Andy moved to SA when he was 15. He studied Civil Engineering and achieved a National Higher Diploma from Port Elizabeth Technicon. Before Natta, Andy worked for 9 years as a Project Manager for a large Civil Engineering Company in SA. He gained knowledge in heavy civils, such as dam building as well as infrastructure works.

Andy commented, “Thank you to the Whelan family for giving me this opportunity to progress and help grow the business.”

John Dunwoody has been appointed Construction Director

John Dunwoody joined Natta in 2006 in the role of Contracts Manager. In 2011 he was promoted to Senior Contracts Manager.

John joined Natta with over 10 years’ experience with Skanska spanning most aspects of Civil Engineering and Building: completing sections of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, bridges, roads, rail, treatment works, commercial and residential schemes. He was also seconded for a year to Black and Veatch to work in the Geotechnical team. John is a Chartered Civil Engineer. As part of his role with Natta acts as a reviewer for the ICE and is passionate about graduate development.

John commented, “I am excited to take on this new role in the business. I will do all I can to help Natta meet its strategic targets and aims.”

Paul McKane has been appointed Finance Director

In 1999, Paul McKane joined Natta in the role of Company Accountant. He progressed to Financial Controller in 2004 and now to Finance Director.

Prior to this, Paul was an Audit Leader and qualified as an Accountant at Birch and Co. His relationship with Natta goes back 23 years, as he worked on the Natta Audit for 5 years before joining the company.

During his time with Natta, Paul has achieved the growth and modernisation of the Accounts and Payroll functions. Overtime he also assumed responsibility for IT and Human Resources.

Paul commented, “No 2 days are the same and I am absolutely delighted to be appointed to the Board of Directors for Natta Building. I hope to continue to assist in both the growth and the financial governance of the company. Thank you to John E and John J Whelan for this appointment. A big thank you also to all of you who have made Natta Building what it is today. Long may that continue.”
