Natta MacMillan Coffee Morning 2022

On Friday 30th September, the Natta Group took part again in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for MacMillan Cancer Support.  In the run-up to that, our head office staff also took part in some sweepstake games.

Between Head Office and Harpwood House, we raised a fabulous £363.20 and Natta has match-funded it to an amazing grand total of £726.40!

Head Office Bake Off Competition

Some of our staff baked an amazing selection of delicious cakes, which were then judged by our Bake Off judges, Natta’s Directors Colin Southey and Huw Rees. After a deep discussion, the judges finally chose the winners for both main categories, Cupcakes and Large Cake. Congratulations to Jo Whelan who won the best Cupcakes and Alan Thornton who won the best Large Cake!

Then the two winners then went head to head to compete for the Natta’s Star Baker. After some more hard judging, from the judges, they finally announced the winner. Congratulations to Alan Thornton, who won Natta Star Baker 2022!

Sweepstake Competition

During the week commencing the Macmillan Coffee Morning, the staff take part in some sweepstake games; ‘Take the Cake’ where participants had to guess ‘which sweet treat is Macmillan’s favourite’ by looking at a variety of differently decorated and named cupcakes. The winner of this sweepstake was Natalie Whitbourn, who guessed the correctly, Pina Cake-Lada. The other sweepstake was ‘Colin’s Conundrum’, where participants had to guess the number of sprinkles on Colin the Caterpillar cake. The winner, Natta Plant’s John Gormley, guessed 935, which was the closest to the answer of 937.

A massive thank you to Kasia Rovira, who organised and hosted a cake sale at our Harpwood House site.

About Macmillan Coffee Morning

The first ever Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. Since then, Macmillan Cancer Support has raised over £290 million. Back in 2021, the Macmillan Cancer Support raised over £11 million just from the coffee mornings alone. They are hoping to top that this year!

Well done to all the winners and a massive thank you to everyone who got involved, who baked, supported and donated to this great cause!
