Natta is delighted to announce that as Main Contractor, we have been awarded a new full design and build contract, Huxley Court in Alresford, for Vivid Homes. The development is comprised of 45 units: 2 blocks of 5 two-bedroom terraced townhouses and 35 two and three-bedroom apartments split across 3 apartment blocks with undercroft parking.
Works involved
The demolition phase is well underway. Originally on the site were warehouses and an office block.
The groundworks and remediation are scheduled to commence in June. As Huxley Court is situated on a sloping site, extensive bulk excavation works will be undertaken to reduce the incline. This will be followed by road works and foundations.
The superstructure build will commence thereafter. The townhouses will be built with traditional masonry walls, block and beam ground floor and plank upper floors. Whilst the apartments will be a mix of steel frames, block and beam ground floors and plank upper floors all with external masonry walls.
A new footpath will also be built to lead from the development down to the recreation park.
This development sees our second project involving Vivid. It follows on from our main contractor build of 49 units at Ewshot Gardens in Church Crookham, where 20 of the units were for Sentinel Housing Association, now known as Vivid Homes following its merger with First Wessex HA.
Commercial Director, Matt Sainty commented: “Having successfully become a member of the Vivid Framework in 2018, we are pleased to be awarded this project. We look forward to a successful partnership with Vivid for years to come.”
The development will come to the market via Vivid in the first quarter of 2022.
About Vivid Homes
Vivid is one of the leading providers of affordable homes and housing-related services in the South of England.
Their vision ‘More homes, bright futures’ has seen them increase the delivery of their new home by 30% year on year. To build more homes they plan to use the money made on the sales of the private market and shared ownership homes to fund the delivery of affordable homes to a wider audience in the South.
Shared Ownership is a great option for new home buyers, or for those struggling to save a large deposit. It’s been helping people get their foot on the property ladder for over 40 years. A share of the property is purchased, which is anywhere between 25% and 75%, and low-cost rent is paid on the remaining share. In many cases, a buyer only needs a 5% deposit of the share you’re purchasing. So could step onto the property ladder with a deposit from just £3,000.
