Breaking Ground at Maldon Crematorium

Natta is pleased to announce that we have secured a new contract to construct Maldon Crematorium in Essex.

Elegy and Maldon Fields have appointed Natta as the main contractor. Our scope of work for the project will include three stages. The New Section 278 Junction into the site from Maldon Road. This work involves widening the existing road, drainage and street lighting adaptions. The second stage involves the on-site access road, car parks, earthworks and drainage. The foundations and external hard landscaping around the new Crematorium Building.

To mark the start of work on the new crematorium, a breaking ground ceremony took place on Friday 12th January. A breaking ground ceremony is a gathering to celebrate the commencement of a construction project on-site. Typically, people use a ceremonial shovel to break the ground physically.

About Maldon Crematorium

Located in Maldon, Essex, the new state-of-the-art crematorium will seat 100 people and hold 4 funerals a day. The funerals will last a minimum of an hour so there is more time for individual ceremonies. This will allow families to have a funeral of their choice, without any pressure. The cremator will have the latest filtration equipment. This will ensure that the process is clean to air, aligning with Elegy’s mission to create natural and beautiful places across the country so that everyone has the chance to hold the funeral of their choice.
