Mental Health Awareness Week 2021

This week, Natta is supporting Mental Health Awareness Week 2021. The theme for this year’s event is Nature and how being outdoors can significantly impact our mental well-being, particularly during recent months.

Recent research by the Mental Health Foundation has shown that going for walks outside was listed as a top coping strategy for people during the pandemic and 45% of people reported that being in green spaces had been vital for their mental health.

Mental Wellbeing at Natta

At Natta, our staff’s health and wellbeing is an ongoing business commitment and we are always looking for new ways to ensure the overall health and safety of our employees.

We aim to start more conversations with staff both on-site and at Head Office on the topic of mental health and want to ensure that they can voice any concerns they have so we can provide help where needed.

Each year, we hold our Wellness Week which encourages employees to get active and provides them with tips to improve their overall well-being.

Other initiatives that we have adopted for our workforce include Mental Health First Aid Courses and Health and Wellbeing Assessments for all operatives. We also run yearly Critical Medicals for our Plant Drivers.

Mental Health Foundation – Take Action, Get Active Challenge

The Mental Health Foundation has set up a virtual challenge throughout May to help people get active, whilst raising vital funds for the organisation.

You can sign up to take part in 30 minutes of outdoor exercise a day which could be anything from running, walking to skipping! This aims to increase people’s connection to nature as well as to help balance their mood and emotions.
