The Natta Group has been celebrating and taking part in our annual Wellness Week!
Throughout the week our Wellness Team arranged several activities related to health and wellbeing for Natta employees on-site and at the Head Office.
Short Tennis and Basketball Tournaments
During the week, Natta held a short tennis and basketball hoop tournament with the finals played today. Eight staff members competed in the short tennis with John E Whelan taking the winning trophy. Fifteen employees then competed in the basketball tournament with Andrew Skinner coming out on top with 9 points.
Mobile Library
Research shows that reading for as little as six minutes a day can reduce stress levels by 60%. Therefore, on Wednesday we held a mobile library for Natta employees to browse and purchase a range of books. This was kindly provided by Woking & Sam Beare Hospices with all proceeds from the event going to their charity. Rachelle Barnett, Community & Events Fundraising Manager at the hospice, said, “Thank you so much to all the Natta team for your ongoing and wide-ranging support of our charity and for such a warm welcome on-site for our bookstall. We hope you found some great reads to enjoy as part of your Wellness Week.”
Natta’s Hand Hygiene Hub
Today, we held a hand hygiene hub for Natta staff to come along and see if their hand-washing skills are up to scratch! In the current climate, it is so important that we all are taking the time to wash our hands correctly and kill as much harmful bacteria as possible.
Natta Flasks
In celebration of reaching 4 million man-hours worked without a reportable accident, Natta gifted all employees their very own Natta Flasks. We were delighted to give these out during Natta Wellness Week as a healthier and more sustainable option for carrying hot drinks or lunches. Managing Director, John E Whelan, hand-delivered these flasks to employees on-site. Whilst doing so, John spoke about the importance of looking after our wellbeing and the impact this can also have on our mental health. Statistics show that male site workers are three times more likely to commit suicide than the average male in the UK which is why it is so important for us to have conversations such as these and break the stigma surrounding these issues.
The Biggest Loser Competition
This week we launched our ‘Biggest Loser’ Competition. A number of Natta employees have signed up to lose a certain amount of weight over 13 weeks. For every 1kg lost, Natta will donate £2 to Woking & Sam Beare Hospices and £2 to Rainbow Trust. Keep an eye out in the coming months to see how the team got on and who is our ‘Biggest Loser’!
Wellness Discounts
We would like to give a huge thanks to HelloFresh and Baxters who offered our employees a special discount in support of Natta Wellness Week. This was the perfect opportunity to encourage our staff to eat well with the hearty and healthy ranges offered by these companies. It also coincided wonderfully with our Natta Flasks which are ideal for carrying Baxters Soup range!
It was once again a fantastic Natta Wellness Week! Huge thanks to HR Manager, Vanessa Pinto, and the Wellbeing Team for masterminding the day and to all the helpers for their efforts.
