b'Page 4Company NewsRecycling Week 2022 This year, recycling week ran from the 19th to the 25th of September. Throughout this week community groups, local authorities, businesses and the media all come together to encourage everyone to recycle more. Recycling at NattaNatta aims to recycle, substitute, and minimise the environmental impact of all our building activities. Our commitment to recycling is underpinned by us owning six 3 Way, Scalping Screeners.Demolition and excavation waste scalping screens make it easy to maximise product yield from the feed material. Not only do we recycle all of our surplus hard landscaping products, but we also in-house recycle 95% of our paper, 100% inkcartridges and 80% of files. NATTA is always finding new ways torecycle and this year we are now recycling all of our unwantedelectronic equipment by donating it to WEEE Charity. WEEE Charity is a non for profit UK, fully licenced and registered charity with the Environment Agency. They collectdonations of electrical and electronic items with no minimum quantity, using their vehicles and drivers. They aim torecycle or reuse all electrical items in a safe and environmentally friendly way. All funds raised are donated back to the local community and helps to fund future projects, events and fundraising to help relieve poverty. The charity is run by volunteers who are unemployed, facing disability or having difficulty getting employed. Health & Safety News Shane Wadey has sadly left the business and the staff and his colleagues at Natta wish him well in his new ventures. I have recently joined the company and shall lead the drive for a safe and healthier place to work. I have extensive experience in construction methods and health and safety from my 40 years in the field, training originally as aBricklayer and moving through site management before starting a career in Health and Safety in 2002 with major contractors mainly in London. My ethos is built around a number of key elements. Firstly, the safety department is a resource available to assist you and your team on your projects, we are not the HSE! Although we will address issues as they appear, our aim is to keep your project working safely and without breaching legislation.Health and Safety should be visual. Its alright to say we do something, but lets be proud of what we do and highlight it to our clients visually, a picture paints a thousand words! The development and education of the workforce are key. If we educate our workforce on risks and hazards, and provide them with the best equipment and training tocomplete the task at hand, we will all meet our targets without injury or delay. I look forward to visiting the projects in the coming weeks and meeting you all. David Smith HSE Manager'
