b'The first quarter of 2021 has seen Nattas Health & Safety performance improve across the board.Although this period has had its challenges, our site management teams have consistently strived to make our sites a safe place to work.We have taken on challenging projects which require us to deliver diverse solutions to our clients and we have done so without a reportable incident. This is a credit to all our teams who have worked hard to deliver on this achievement. In the first quarter of the year, we have been able to re-certify our Health & Safety accreditations following virtual audits conducted by industry accredited auditors. In January, we achieved recertification of our Achilles and SMAS accreditations as well as the Phase 1 NQA integrated management ISO accreditation (ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001) in February following a rigorous audit process. This achievement is evidence of the hard work from everyone at Natta. Looking ahead, we hope to roll out our Health & Safety climate survey between July and September and we encourage full participation from all at Natta. This survey will help us to measure our safety culture and once completed, we shall be able to generate a report and provide guidance that will help improve the safety culture here at Natta. We also have the Phase 2 NQA integrated management ISO accreditation (ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001) to look forward to in August 2021 which, on completion, will grant us full recertification to the ISO standards for the next 3 years. We will continue to improve standards on our sites by ensuring Health and Safety is given due consideration in the planning and delivery of our projects. We aim to do this by putting great emphasis on daily task briefings, toolbox talks and project-specific RAMS to ensure we deliver on the Health and Safety requirements of the project. Finally, Covid-19 has changed the way we work and the risk it presents to the construction industry cannot be overstated. We at Natta have ensured all our sites remain COVID-19 compliant as we join hands in the global fight against the virus.I would like to thank everyone for their support and collaboration on our projects, especially the Head Office teams (HR, Plant, Buying, IT/Marketing and Finance) who without them our success story is incomplete. Our ethos on workplace safety remains if we cannot work safely, we do not work at all.Othuke Okah - SHEQ Manager'
