b"In June, Nattas MD, John Whelan and Contracts Manager, Rob Winspear visited Woking & Sam Beare Hospice. Following Nattas annual Dragon Boat races and fundraising efforts for the second year, Natta wanted to learn more about this fantastic charity. Nattas visit to the hospice initiated a new opportunity for us to get further involved. In July we commenced the groundworks of a new wildlife garden. The hard landscaping is now complete and the planting will take place in September. This garden is located in a central square between the accommodation of those receiving treatment. This new garden will provide a much needed haven for the patients at Woking and their families.About Woking Sam & Beare HospicesThis Hospice exists to offer and promote the highest quality care possible for people with advanced terminal illnesses. They also provide help and support to their families and other individuals important to their care. Each year they care for around 2,000 patients. Over 70% of their care is delivered across Surrey in the community. This works out as being 8,760 hours of care every single year.History In 1977 is where it all began as they opened their first Sam Beare Palliative Care ward in Weybridge Hospital. Another 10-bed Hospice was later opened in 1996. A decision was made to merge the two Hospices in 2014 and to build a brand-new state-of-the-art 20-bed facility in Goldsworth Park, Woking, Surrey. Building work commenced in November 2015 and the build designs incorporated the blueprint and shell of an original office building. May 2017 saw their first patients admitted to this newly built Hospice. The decision to merge was primarily because they put their patients at the heart of everything they do, but also to enable them to increase their impact and reach. Natta and Woking & Sam Beare Annual Dragon Boat RacesTheir annual Dragon Boat Race has been running for 7 years. This was the second year that Natta has participated in this fun event. It proved to be another excellent and seemingly successful day out whilst raising vital funds for the Hospice. This year, through Nattas team efforts and determination on of our teams the 'Viscount' have been crowned the winners for 2019. Over the last two years, Natta has raised more than 4,000 for the Hospice. Natta is already thinking about next years race!"
