Natta launched a new initiative to reward our employees for their dedication to following one or more of Natta’s core values. The LOVE (Live Our Values Everyday) Awards were masterminded back in February by one of our Senior Estimators, Karl Shepherd. He submitted this suggestion to our Senior Management Team about how Natta could acknowledge and reward our staff for their on-going commitment to following Natta’s core values: Safety, Expertise, Integrity, Quality, Innovation, Teamwork, Collaboration and Sustainability. Here are the list of winners from July to August and some of the photos that were taken. You can see all of the photos on our blog posts. July LOVE Award Winners The award for Safety went to Gabriel Nedelcu. Gabriel went out of his way to perform reversing vehicle duties at our Wantage site. He noticed a dangerous situation on site and expertly guided the reversing vehicle out. Dedication to Expertise went to Leone Leoluca and Xhavit Dauti. Leone from our Hackbridge project won for his eager attitude towards learning. A colleague commented, “Leone started as a labourer. His skills progressed swiftly where he can now carry out all aspects of groundworks including laying drainage.” Xhavit won from our Barnet site. Xhavit supervised highly technical works on Phase 6, 7 & 8 whilst managing the gang on 278 works to comply with a short deadline. Kevin Matthews, at our Arborfield site, won the Integrity award for completing the site appraisals first. He also had a record of 50% good and 50% excellent in how the teams rated each other’s performance. Our Quality award went to Paul Dakin, Aslla Gjoni and James Weiner also from our Barnet project. They hand-picked asbestos for 30 days in a row from Monday to Saturday. They kept the good work up with no reported failures from the Treatment Facility. Safety procedures were also involved such as changing PPE after each break and continuous dampening of the dusty muck by the dry weather. For Teamwork the award went to Matt Benham from our Head Office. A colleague commented, “He is the best milk monitor we could wish for. He is always happy to help everybody and ensures the milk bottles are cleared from the downstairs kitchen and stored correctly.” The Collaboration award went Carika Behounek. Carika won for the organisation of the Rainbow Trust bucket collections. A colleague commented, “She is very professional in her approach to everybody she meets and always pleasant and helpful. She organises the volunteers from Natta HQ into teams and ensures everybody is supported and happy. Unfailingly cheerful and a true team player.” August LOVE Award Winners Stevie Dowling from Natta Plant won the Innovation award for taking it upon herself to develop a spreadsheet incorporating graphs. Stevie was initially asked to produce a spreadsheet for the dumpers similar to an existing one for excavator hours. The award for Teamwork went to Elliot Braund, Milan Dauti, Bashkim Aliaj, Alberto Aragon and Rama Karri. Elliot from our training centre CISTC won for his help to unblock the welfare facilities in the training building. There were a number of people on training courses that day and it saved CISTC from closing the main toilets. Milan and Bashkim won for their teamwork efforts at our Barnet site. A colleague commented, “They took the lead on their respective gangs and combined their efforts to meet a very tight schedule during the heatwave.” From our Head Office, Alberto Aragon and Rama Karri won for their pre-preparations at our Wantage project. They gave guidance and explained what was needed in order to meet the deadlines for submitting the verification report for our works to Oxford County Council. The Collaboration award went to Alex Sofian, Mustafa Ali, Etienne Rambeau and Alberto Gomez. Alex, Mustafa and Etienne won for achieving the deadlines for Phase 7 & 8. A colleague commented, “Really hard work from all three of them to help the Barnet project team.” Alberto Gomez also won in this category. A colleague commented, “Since Alberto arrived as a Project Manager, he has managed to get on top of the works quickly. He also took great care in understanding each supervisor’s own way of working. He set up good relationships with the team and worked hard to answer everybody’s queries and to share information.” Milan Dauti, Alberto Gomez, Bashkim Aliaj, Alex Sofian, Etienne Rambeau & Mustafa Ali Kevin Matthews Elliot Braund, Stevie Dowling & Alberto Aragon Left to right: Alberto Gomez presenting Aslla Gjoni with the Love Award and James Weiner being presented with his LOVE Award by Etienne Rambeau
