Cuddesdon – Residential Properties
OVERVIEW
This project was located in Cuddesdon near Oxford, and comprised the delivery of 8 unique residential properties set within a rural site. The development combined new-build construction with the conversion of existing buildings. We delivered the scheme within a picturesque countryside setting, designing it to blend in with its surroundings while offering high-quality residential accommodation.
SCOPE OF WORKS
The site was delivered in two distinct phases, each with its own construction and technical considerations.
Phase 1 involved the new-build construction of five units, all contained within a single block. They consist of 2 one-bedroom apartments, a two-bed terrace house, and 2 three-bed terrace houses. Each house comes with a separate garage and benefits from a private garden space. The new-builds were finished to a high standard, incorporating natural stone walls, wooden windows, and red-tiled roofs, carefully blended with contemporary internal features.
Phase 2 included the conversion of three historic dairy barns into three individual terraced barn conversions. These listed buildings were adapted to retain their distinctive architectural character, including natural stone, high open vaulted ceilings and exposed timber trusses. The traditional elements were also successfully integrated with modern glazing and contemporary high-end fixtures and fittings. This created functional living spaces while preserving the original features. All of the properties benefit from large gardens and private gated driveways.
Each property across both phases benefits from full mains electricity, gas, water and foul drainage connections, ensuring modern living standards within a rural context. The development occupies a prime, elevated position, offering far-reaching countryside views and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.
