Clay Farm South Housing Development

Project Facts
Our Role: Sub Contractor
Location: Clay Farm, Cambridge
Client: Skanska
Project Value: £2.85 m
Overview:
This mixed development of new housing and apartments consisted of 128 units in total, including a block with an underground waterproof car park.
Scope of Works:

This high specification development used cutting edge architecture and striking materials to create a modern looking living environment on the outskirts of Cambridge. The 3 apartment blocks and housing terraces were on mixed strip footing and piled foundations, with the large underground car park founded on a ground bearing slab. The infrastructure was a mixture of adoptable and non-adoptable drainage and roads, the roads being split between macadam and block paving, some of which was permeable to meet the planning requirement.

Our work included constructing a large reinforced concrete waterproof basement, the 500 m³ basement of which was poured as a composite slab in a single day. Cut and fill to grade site suitable for construction, all strip footings and reinforced concrete foundations. We undertook all drainage and service works to the accommodation and the Substructure blockwork to dpc and block and beam flooring. Our finishing works comprised all roads and footpaths, extensive block paving and high specification cobbles. As well as, landscaped areas including acoustic panel foundations and sandstone stepping stones.

PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS

"We successfully completed a 486m³ concrete pour, all in one day."
