Overview:
This mixed use development comprised a large reinforced concrete structure for a new swimming pool along with underground maintenance culverts, pump room and plant area separated from two large residential units, both served by a shared access road containing all drainage and services.
Scope of Works:

Works commenced with the installation of the through site drainage including attenuation system and connection in to the live sewer. This drainage trench was then backfilled with gabion baskets which provided the temporary works solution for the subsequent excavation of the underground swimming pool saving our Client money and time from a tight programme. The complex reinforced concrete structure was completed using the Xypex waterproof concrete system and service corridors and the subterranean structure were formed using Peri panels and falsework. Ground bearing reinforced concrete slabs formed the rest of the leisure centre, with mezzanine slabs formed from a structural topping on steel decking.

PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS

"The crux of this project was the shared access road that serviced both the commercial and residential sites. The sheer volume of drainage, manholes and services that lay in the only access to site meant that it had to be managed intently to ensure works were completed and maximum access was maintained at all times. The main facets of our expertise used on this project were underground waterproof structures and high specification finishes, where roads were all block paved and footpaths adopted. "
